The Swedish Network for European Legal Studies (SNELS) represents the legal branch of the Swedish Networks for European Research (in economy, social science and law). The SNELS Steering group is chaired by Prof. Dr. Antonina Bakardjieva Engelbrekt and includes representatives from the universities of Gothenburg, Lund, Stockholm, Uppsala, Umeå and Örebro. By joining forces the universities have, for over a decade, supported European legal research.

The interaction between academics, practitioners and the public in the area of European law is actively stimulated by two annual conferences and several seminars. The SNELS also provides financial support for publication of material deriving from the activities through the channels of existing series of publications i.e. nationally in Europarättslig tidsskrift (ERT) and internationally in Swedish Studies in European Law.

All activities arranged by the Snels are free of charge.
